THE STUDIO JOURNAL
A good POD product starts with a suitable image, the right permission and careful preparation. Use this checklist before making a listing available to customers.
1. Confirm the license
Choose the Print-on-Demand license where it is offered on the artwork page. Our POD option covers up to 1,000 physical items, and the artwork may be the main design. Personal, Commercial and Extended do not include POD production. Review the full terms for restrictions.
2. Match the file to the product
Check the image’s pixel dimensions and background. A transparent figure may suit a composition with your own background, while a complete landscape may suit an edge-to-edge print. The original file specifications are listed on each artwork page.
3. Prepare and inspect the layout
Use your provider’s current template and check its bleed and safe areas. Inspect edges, cropping and important details at the final output size. Do not assume that a web preview represents the final printed colour.
4. Review a sample
When possible, order a sample and inspect the print before promoting the product. Write an accurate listing explaining what the buyer receives and follow the production platform’s own rules.
5. Track production
Keep your order confirmation and license records, and track the number of physical items made under the license. Contact us before exceeding the permitted production limit. Never offer the source artwork file as a download to your own customers.
